Amber - Dapple Grey Irish Draft

Amber was a beautiful Dapple Grey Irish Draft mare, who meant the world to her owner Janice. Janice's friends and family commissioned me to create this large bespoke piece of artwork depicting Amber so that Janice can always remember the good times they shared together.  

Sadly Amber had to be put to sleep after a long battle with a rotten hoof, despite the effort of both Janice, the vets and the farriers involved the foot just would not heal and sadly the hard decision had to be made to stop her pain permanently. It is the most difficult and heartbreaking decision an animal lover will ever have to make, knowing it is the right time to say goodbye. Amber sadly only spent 5 years with Janice but in that time she made a lasting and loving impression on her heart.

Amber was a true beauty to depict; with such a kind and gentle expression, and Janice was a pleasure to create artwork for; a lady who lives for her horses and animals and does her very best for them no matter what.
