Equine Art Gallery

Katie has always adored horses and was obsessed with drawing them from an early age.

"I try to capture the best parts of the animal, the parts that their owners love. I start with the eyes, that's where the character is, and focus on the animals movements, drawing it with quick strokes. I am also passionate aboutgetting the animal anatomically correct, getting the weight and skeletal structure right, while at the same time being true to my style"

The move from drawing for pleasure, and exhibiting her work for pleasure in small local galleries, came about during her studies in International Equine and Agricultural Business Management at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester.

As part of the course, students were required to set up their own small businesses. Naturally, Katie decided to take her already popular artwork to a wider audience, attending Gatcombe Horse Trials with her artwork on display. As Katie remembers "The feedback I received was fantastic. People in the Cotswolds share my passion for animals and it's a pleasure to create works of art for them"
